A Vendor That I Used To Know

One of the most frustrating parts of managing business operations is finding a good vendor to work with. We can sympathize. We understand how hard it is to find a vendor that provides software at a reasonable price while still maintaining a strong support system. We use vendors ourselves, after all!

So what happens when you are forced to move on due to rising prices and a lack of scalability? Here at Deep Core, we write a song about it.

Lyrics

Now and then I think of when we built that server
And spent three days replacing old hard drives that died
Spec sheet said that you were right for me
And I had good luck with your company
But that was back in Twenty-Ten in late December

You can get addicted to a certain kind of madness
Like using hardware to the end
Always the end
So when we couldn’t get a new license
Well your techs said we would still be friends
But I’ll admit that I was glad that it was over

But you didn’t have to shut me off
Make out like we’d never spoken
And that we were nothing
And I don’t even need support
But you treat me like a stranger
And I feel cut short
Your prices used to be so low
I have old receipts and records
And your first phone number
I guess that I don’t need that though
Now you’re just a vendor that I used to know
Now you’re just a vendor that I used to know

Now and then I think of all the times you called for service
But had us believing it was always something that we’d done
And we don’t wanna work that way
Saying yes to every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And we wouldn’t have to hear about a vendor that you used to know…

But you didn’t have to shut me off
Make out like we’d never spoken
And that we were nothing
And I don’t even need support
But you treat me like a stranger
And I feel cut short
Your prices used to be so low
I have old receipts and records
And your first phone number
I guess that I don’t need that though
Now you’re just a vendor that I used to know

A vendor

I used to know

A vendor
Now you’re just a vendor that I used to know

A vendor

I used to know

A vendor

Now you’re just a vendor that I used to know

I used to know

That I used to know

I used to know

A vendor
