About the Position
Deep Core Data is seeking an IT Network and Infrastructure Engineer to oversee and deploy solutions for our various corporate clients. We are a B2B company working with everyone from tech startups to huge innovators throughout the country, meaning we get to touch almost every industry and type of business out there.
Responsibilities for our IT Engineer include:
- Meeting with clients online, over the phone, or in-person to discuss their technical needs and how Deep Core Data can best help address them
- Proposing and managing both short and long term plans for client projects
- Securely implementing changes to customer systems, servers, and networks
- Diagnosing system issues, such as downtime, data loss, or performance problems
- Providing technical support when clients require it
- Maintaining the servers we keep in our datacenter, from a hardware and network perspective.
This position is full-time from our Waltham office, to begin in early 2017.
The Perfect Candidate
- You are a critically-thinking puzzle solver with a thorough understanding of what it takes to build and maintain sustainable hardware, software, and data systems.

- You have ideally gone through a bachelor’s program or other specialized education relating to computer science, data systems, or IT.
- You know how to solve an issue without resorting to a script. If something isn’t working, you’ll dig down into the nitty gritty to find out why.
- You have been working professionally in the IT, data, or development space for a few years, or have extensive personal experience within an established tech community.
- You understand that you don’t just work with computers; you work with the people operating them, and can manage the constraints they may have.
- You want to educate and advise clients on the best and most valuable ways to safely scale their companies using their technology.
- You have experience in a datacenter or server farm setting.
- You have worked in a scenario where you have been responsible for self-reporting your hours or managing hourly billing for clients.
